The net direct tax collections may have slowed down, but the Income Tax Department is “comfortable and hopeful” of meeting the target for the ongoing financial year 2025-26, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Ravi Agrawal said. At least five people were killed in a mass shooting at a market in the Thai capital, Bangkok, on Monday, before the gunman took his own life, a police official confirmed as per Reuters. According to Charin Gopatta, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, the gunman opened fire at the Or Tor Kor Market, known for selling agricultural produce and local food.
