BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Friday alleged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is baselessly blaming the Centre and diverting attention to cover the mistakes which happened due to the DMK’s incompetent administration.

In a post on X, he countered Mr. Stalin’s remark questioning the intention of the BJP-constituted NDA delegation that visited Karur.
Mr. Nagendran alleged Mr. Stalin was making false statements that the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had not visited during times of natural disasters and not allocating funds.
Ms. Sitharaman had visited during Cyclone Gaja and other disasters and since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power, Centre has allocated over ₹13,000 crore to Tamil Nadu towards disaster relief and why is the Chief Minister trying to hide it, he alleged.
“We have no necessity to threaten people to join our alliance or play drama,” Mr. Nagendran said.
“While Mr. Stalin went to Karur overnight, Why has he so far not visited Kallakurichi (during hooch deaths), Vengaivayal (mixing of human waste in drinking water tank) and Sivaganga (police toture death)? Whether the political gain from Karur is bigger than the suffering of people in these regions,” he asked.
DMK has no moral right to criticise the Central government, Mr. Nagendran said.
The bloodstains of lack of preparedness and proper planning which lead to the death of 41 innocent people in Karur will never fade away from the DMK government, he said.
