Fans were thrilled to see Shah Rukh Khan win his first-ever Best Actor National Award for his performance in Jawan. Along with him, Rani Mukerji and Vikrant Massey were also honoured for their stellar performances in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway and 12th Fail. In a video from the ceremony, Shah Rukh, Rani, and Vikrant were seen wearing their medals after receiving them from President Droupadi Murmu. Now, Vikrant has opened up about the memorable moment and how Shah Rukh and Rani behaved in a ‘childlike’ fashion at the ceremony.

Speaking to ANI, Vikrant shared, “Childlike is the word! It was so inspiring to see Rani ma’am and Shah Rukh sir still maintain that quality after so much success… When Shah Rukh came back and said, ‘Main to yeh award pehen rahaa hu (I am wearing the medal).’ And both of us said, ‘Haan, humein bhi pehenna hai, pehen lein (Yes, we want to wear it as well. Shall we wear)?’ Then he said, ‘Haan pehente hain. Kyu nahi (Yes, why not)?’ It was a little difficult to put it in… so we are just helping each other and living that moment.”
The video also captured a sweet moment when Rani helped Shah Rukh untangle his medal before putting it on him. She even turned on her selfie camera to show SRK how the medal looked on him.

Another video from the ceremony showcased Shah Rukh being his chivalrous self. He was seen taking extra care of Rani—holding her saree pallu so it wouldn’t get caught and even fixing her hair before they walked up to the stage to receive their awards. He then planted a gentle kiss on her cheek, to which Rani responded by saying, “thank you.”
This was Shah Rukh Khan’s first ever National Film Award in his career of over 30 years. Mohanlal was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 71st National Film Awards.
