As a war-torn Gaza continues to battle lack of food and potable water, dozens of Palestinians were killed or wounded Monday during a desperate run for food towards the aid drop zones in the Gaza Strip, news agency Reuters reported.

The United Nation-backed hunger experts have stated that a “worst-case scenario of famine” is unfolding in the region, as it has reached two out of three famine thresholds: plummeting food consumption and acute malnutrition.
While Palestinians cannot leave, the war, which is into 22 months now, has ended farming and Israel has banned fishing. So, the food for survival of the population there has to be sourced from outside. Yet, Israel’s blockade and military offensive have made it nearly impossible to safely deliver aid, triggering widespread starvation.
