PS5 New Firmware Update | Sony PlayStation 5 Controller Firmware: Serial Number Access + Controller Improvements, know features

To check your console’s serial number, simply head to the Settings app on your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Pro and go to “System”. Now, head over to System Software, click on Console Information, and on the screen that appears, you will see a section named Serial Number. In case you want to check your DualSense controller’s serial number, go to Settings, find and click on Accessories, and under the Console Information tab, press the View Serial Number option.

Apart from this new feature, the newest PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro firmware version also updates the “device software of the DualSense Edge wireless controller to improve stability”, improves the messages and usability on some screens and brings enhancements to the system software performance and stability.

To give you a quick recap, the last firmware update for the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Pro introduced some security fixes to the system software.

For those wondering, you can manually update your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Pro console by opening the Settings app and heading over to System. Now, go to System Software > System Software Update and Settings > Update Available and press on Update System software to get the latest version.

If the system update is stuck on downloading, press the PS button on your controller to launch the control centre and select the Downloads/Uploads option. Here, highlight the system software update,select the option named View Error Info and press the Try Again button to restart the process.
