Telugu actress Dimple Hayathi, husband booked for abusing domestic help: Report

The case against the couple has been registered at the Filmnagar Police Station in Hyderabad following the househelp accused them of harassment, assault, and abuse, the Free Press Journal reported.

The complainant, Priyanka Bibar (22) who hails from Rayagada district in Odisha, had reached Hyderabad on September 22 seeking work. She was placed as a maid at Dimple and David’s residence in Vamsiram’s Westwood Apartment, Shaikpet, on the same day.

Priyanka, in her complaint, alleged that she had been subjected to constant humiliation, verbal abuse, insults and had been denied proper food, according to the Free Press Journal.

This led to a dispute between the couple and Priyanka on September 29, wherein the latter said that she was abused. Priyanka claimed that the couple had threatened her, adding that David snatched her phone and smashed it when she tried to record the incident.

A criminal case had been registered against Dimple and her husband David in 2023, wherein the couple were accused of damaging IPS officer Rahul Hegde’s vehicle, which was parked at his residence in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills.

The incident took place when David accidentally hit Rahul’s car, following which the officer’s driver Chetan Kumar questioned the actor about the damage, India Today reported. However, Hayathi further kicked the car in response, leading to Kumar lodging a complaint at the Jubilee Hills Police Station.
