Israel-Palestine News LIVE Updates: US President Donald Trump is all set to address the UN General Assembly today as the world grapples with a crisis in Gaza and the Israeli military continuing its assault on Gaza City while widening its ground incursion to capture the territory. The move comes as several countries including France, the UK, Canada, Australia have announced their plans to recognise a Palestinian state in the United Nations General Assembly. During his speech at the UN General Assembly, French President Emmanuel Macron said, recognition of a Palestinian state is the “only solution that will allow for Israel to live in peace.”
Israel’s ground incursion in Gaza City: The Israel’s military has kept up its assault on the Gaza City by dismantling underground shafts and destroying several high-rise structures. The Israeli strikes killed at least 60 Palestinians in the past 24 hours, according to Gaza health authorities. Israeli forces, that currently control Gaza City’s eastern suburbs, have been assaulting the Sheikh Radwan and Tel Al-Hawa areas, in order to position themselves to take on the central and western region of the city.

Calls for a Palestinian State: About 80% of the member states in the UN General Assembly have till now recognised the Palestinian state, including France, Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the UK, Australia, Canada. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has responded to Palestinian recognition and said that leaders who are recognising Palestinian state “are giving a huge reward to terrorism.”
