Shipments of engineering, textile, and apparel goods, which have a large number of MSME exporters, registered growth in July compared with the year-earlier month.

Textiles exports registered 5.84% year-on-year growth in July, while apparel exports climbed 4.75%.
Cumulative exports of textiles and apparel in July was 5.37% higher than July 2024. And, cumulative exports of textiles and apparel during April – July this year was 3.87% higher than the corresponding period last year.
Engineering goods exports in July stood at $10.43 billion as against $ 9.17 billion in July 2024, registering 13.75% growth.
For the April-July period of FY 26, $ 39.33 billion worth engineering goods were exported, which is 6% more than the exports for the corresponding exports last financial year.
Pankaj Chadha, chairman of EEPC India, said that despite the global trade scenario remaining cloudy, the Indian engineering exports sector continued to demonstrate resilience.
In the face of tariff-related uncertainties triggered by the U.S., there is greater emphasis on market and product diversification by engineering exporters, he added.
