Television actor Rupali Ganguly recently gave a tour of her ‘spiritual’ home in Mumbai. She has now moved to a flat, but this nature-filled house has been turned into a sanctuary for street dogs. In a recent interaction, Rupali shared that food for street dogs is prepared at this house and then distributed to dogs living in nearby areas. Her revelation comes amid the Supreme Court’s order to remove street dogs from the streets of Delhi-NCR and move them to shelters away from residential localities.

The video shows her pets inside the house, each of whom has been named by Rupali. Speaking about her house, she told Pinkvilla, “This house is a good karma place. This is more than a house. It is a house of these kids (showing the dogs present in the house). This house has an outdoor kitchen and food is prepared for lots of dogs in that kitchen. I have rickshaw vala and my valet and they send food for many fur babies daily. So good things are deem to happen to people who live in this house because good karma is attached to this house.”
Rupali has often advocated against animal cruelty. She recently shared a post showing her support for the lives of Delhi’s street dogs. She shared a video and said in Hindi, “This nation also belongs to them, so does this Earth. So let’s live together with love. Be human.”
The Supreme Court on August 11 directed municipal authorities to pick up and house all stray dogs in Delhi and parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) in dedicated shelters within eight weeks.
How Bollywood reacted
Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan shared a powerful message, expressing concern over the distressing nature of the Supreme Court’s order. Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane called the directive “absurd,” while John Abraham wrote to Chief Justice B R Gavai, urging a review of the decision on stray dogs.
