Three persons drown in Srikakulam

Three persons are feared to have drowned at Santabommali beach in Srikakulam district on Tuesday evening, according to police personnel.

The three had entered the sea to bath were identified as— a resident of Madevanipeta of Old Tekkali Panchayat Dunna Duryodhana and two youth from Odisha. Eyewitness reported that the trio screamed for help, prompting passersby and tourists to attempt to save them, but they were unsuccessful.

Naupada police officials visited the spot and enquired about the incident and launched a search operation where they engaged local fishermen and swimmers to trace the three persons.

Families of the three have been informed about the incident.
